Verse 1
The lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
Have brought me down upon my knees
Oh, I beg, I beg and plead
Singin' come out of things un said
Shoot an apple off my head
And a trouble that can't be named
A tiger's waiting to be tamed, singin'
Verse 2
Confusion that never stops
Closing walls and ticking clocks
Gonna come back and take you home
I could not stop that you now know
Singin' come out upon my seas
Cursed missed opportunities
Am I a part of the cure
Or am I part of the disease? Singin'
Chorus 2
You are
You are
You are
You are
Bridge
And nothing else compares
Oh, no, nothing else compares
And nothing else compares
Outro
Home, home, where I wanted to go
Home, home, where I wanted to go
Home, home, where I wanted to go
Home, home, where I wanted to go
Fun fact
The intro piano riff of ”Clocks” by Coldplay has become one of the most recognizable intros in modern rock music. It was played by the lead singer and bandleader Chris Martin. Martin says that ”Clocks” was inspired by the English rock band Muse, and that it popped into his mind late one night in Liverpool when he came into the studio.
The song received widespread acclaim and won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 2004, solidifying its place as one of Coldplay's most celebrated tracks.
“Clocks” features only a few chords, and with the capo on the 1sr fret, this becomes playable even for the beginner guitarists! Have fun!
